Best Slide Keyboard Phone Buyer’s Guide

Touchscreen
Even though the main idea with the best slide phones is to have a separate, larger keyboard for easier typing of text messages, many of the latest best slide phones also have a touchscreen function.
While this may seem redundant at first, it makes perfect sense if you think about it.
The thing is, if you receive a call or a text while you’re in a cramped or busy area, or you have only one arm to spare to handle the phone, slide opening may not be that easy.
Therefore, quickly viewing your messages or missed calls by using the touchscreen rather than opening the sliding keyboard can make using the phone much simpler and more convenient.
GPS
If you travel a lot, having a phone that has a GPS feature can be a great way to always be in the position to tell where you are.
GPS uses radio signals that bounce off of satellites all across the globe, so no matter where you are, if you’ve got a GPS feature on your phone, it will be able to tell you your position.
What’s more, GPS also serves the purpose of telling you the exact time where you are, taking into account the time zone, too, of course.
Bluetooth
As anyone who ever owned a phone in the early 2000s can tell you, infrared and Bluetooth used to be the primary way to transfer data from one phone to another.
While transferring data today is mostly done in different ways, Bluetooth can still be used for this purpose and some other purposes.
For example, Bluetooth headphones or speakers, as their name suggests, use Bluetooth connectivity to play music immediately as the signal is received.
Memory card slot
Best slide phones, in general, have the major purpose of sending messages back and forth with ease, many of the models, particularly the sliding smartphone android models, are well known for their great many additional features and apps.
Whether cameras, voice recording, various games, apps, and other media, slide phones tend to require more storage than they come with fresh from the factory.
This is why many manufacturers build in SD card slots in their best slide phones – to allow the user to add more storage if they need it.
Now, the only difference between different models would be the limit to the storage capacity. Some models set the limit at about 16GB, while others allow 32GB or even up to 256GB.
Camera
As we said above, the main purpose of a slide phone is easy messaging.
That said, one of the favorite secondary features any mobile phone has would probably be the camera.
The quality of the camera is typically measured in megapixels. The more MP’s a camera has, the higher the resolution will be, and with it, the quality, too.
On the other hand, secondary cameras, the presence of autofocus, LED flash, and other features should also not be overlooked when looking at a slide phone’s camera.
How Does the Phone Slide Work?

Display part
The best slide phones consists of two main parts – the display and the keyboard.
The role of the display part is pretty self-explanatory.
Many manufacturers build in touchscreen displays or even add some buttons at the bottom of the display so that the user can perform some basic functions (such as answering a call) without opening the keyboard underneath.
Keyboard part
The part under the display is a large keyboard typically arranged in the QWERTY system, so to speak.
This is done on purpose so that computer users can have an easier time typing because they already know the arrangement of buttons.
What is a Slide Phone?
As their name suggests, slide phones represent a special sort of mobile phone design where one part of the phone is reserved for the display, while the other is used for the keypad.
The reason behind such a design is saving space, as it is easier to carry the phone in your pocket when it’s folded.
On the other side, you get a large display and a larger keyboard when you ‘slide’ the phone, which means using it will be easier.
As far as the layout of the keypad is concerned, it’s typically the same as the standard mobile keypad on older models, while the newer ones may have a QWERTY keyboard.
Conclusion
All in all, even though the best slide phones are becoming more and more obsolete by the day, there are still people who like them for their curious design and utility, which is prepared to keep them alive on the market.
Whether you like Android-based models or you think that touchscreen models are the best slide phones, in general, we hope that you managed to find the best slider phone for your needs in the list of products above.
